The curriculum in our Early Childhood is based on the globally recognised International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme (PYP). Our PYP is an educational curriculum and philosophy that is authorised and evaluated by the International Baccalaureate, one of the most transferrable curricular taught in over 109 countries around the world.
The PYP areas of learning are language, mathematics, social studies, science and technology, arts, and personal, social and physical education. In addition, all of our learners will experience learning in a second language. This is taught through intensive and immersive daily language lessons from specialist teachers. Families have the option of French or Mandarin. We know that even in Early Childhood, high standards are crucial. Our curriculum standards are based on those recognised by PISA and OECD as world class. We use Singapore standards for Maths, the UK and New Zealand standards for English, and the Australian Science curriculum.
We are dedicated to getting to know each and every student and their goals. Our students graduate as logical and critical thinkers, fully prepared for the top universities globally.
Our student: teacher ratios are intentional, ensuring individualized attention. Small Class sizes provides opportunities for teachers to work one on one, discover and nurture the natural talents and learning style of each student, and tailor differentiated teaching strategies to explore their individual potential.
Our innovative programs exceed national pedagogical standards. At NCA, excellence in both academic and social development areas are supported by our innovative curriculum enhanced by a wide range of enrichment activities, and student experiences. NCA students learn from our specialized teachers in arts, music, science, computer, coding, physical education, speech, and Olympic math.
Developing globally aware and prepared students with a global view, and provides the opportunity to engage with the world at every grade level. As multilingual learners, our students build their confidence and develop globally aware.
Starting Mandarin immersion in the nursery, allows preschoolers and kindergarteners allow for the optimal development of fluency and bilingualism. An early start gives children the ability to learn the Mandarin language as its own standalone structure with separate grammar, syntax, and expression rather than a simple translation. Being bilingual enhances focus, increases problem-solving skills and creative abilities, helps to build empathy, and encourages understanding of other cultures and ways of life, it also makes it easier for children to learn more languages in the future.
Each class is led by two fully-qualified experienced Co-Teachers, one native English speaker and one native Chinese speaker, who work together to create a unique bilingual setting for students.
We believe in each and every student’s potential by helping them achieve their highest goals through continuous assesments.
We aim to create critical thinkers, increase students’ science literacy, and enable the next generation of innovators.
We utilize a designed platform for parents to communicate with teachers directly, learn about their children’s progress, development, and school life.
Language is a tool to access culture, which is why we extend education beyond the classroom to integrate their learning.
